Heron Preston x Levis

Heron Preston x Levis

After a first alliance in 2019, Heron Preston and Levis return with the "Mistakes are OK" capsule.

"The idea for this capsule really came from the story of a mistake with my birth certificate," Preston said. "The hospital misprinted my birthday as 1873 instead of 1983. In fact, it was kind of fun. Later, I learned that 1873 was also the year that Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis obtained a U.S. patent on the process of riveting work trousers for the first time.

"I was visiting Levis' factory, looking through his archives in San Francisco and saw that the rivets were printed in 1873. I told them the story of the mistake on my birth certificate and we realised that there was a happy coincidence there".

For these reasons, Preston's new Levis range is full of intentional errors. The pieces in this capsule include remodelled pockets, mismatched buttons, incorrectly cut labelling, inverted belt loops, exposed linings and asymmetric accents, while their distinctive orange labels and "CTNMb" are everywhere.
