Stüssy, the brand that invented streetwear.

You could say that Stüssy is the brand that really invented streetwear. In the early 80s, a 24-year-old Shawn Stüssy already had a surfboard business in Laguna Beach. Such was the success of his boards finished with his particular signature (today it is the brand's logo), that he decided to sign T-shirts as well. His surprise was to discover that he was selling more T-shirts than boards. Together with his friend and financial expert Frank Sinatra, they created Stüssy Inc. in 1984. In 1991 they expanded to New York with James Jebbia and from there, to the world.

The key to their success? Adapting to the environment. The brand was adopted by different subcultures in different parts of the world and at different times; skaters and surfers in California, hip hop in New York, hip hop or clubs and rave culture in London.

Among his latest achievements is a collab with Dior. This collection captures the essence of Miami and the modern vision of Dior in Shawn's signature style. Here's the video of the show in Florida.
